From 15 to 17 April 2011

The fourth Cocoa festival was celebrated in  Dame-Marie  . Despite a social-political situation rife with uncertainties, FESMAR and its partners, CAUD and AEADMA, felt that it was of utmost importance to organize the fourth edition of the festival. The cultivation of this plant is not only important for farmers and operators in the sector, but also for the environment, due to its major role in the protection and preservation of biodiversity.

Youth participation has been outstanding during this edition. Members of the  Animation Socio Cultural  Group (GASC) took the lead in opening parade attended by delegations of students, members of cocoa cooperatives, as well as ordinary citizens and the organizers of the event.
The theme for this year was that of cocoa processing. A representative of the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV) and an entity of the State University of Haiti (UEH) made the trip to give a talk on certain aspects of cocoa processing and answered the questions of artisans operating in this field.
This edition of the festival cocoa received the support of the Ministry of Tourism and of the Jean Vorbe Foundation.
